Do I need to have an existing website to use SunShop?
No. SunShop is designed to stand alone as both a website and an online store. In addition to providing a complete shopping cart system, SunShop is also a comprehensive website builder.
Do I need to be a programmer to use SunShop?
No. You can setup and run SunShop without understanding or viewing a single code. The entire ecommerce platform is a plug-and-play application. After installation, you will be able to maintain and edit your entire site via the administration area.
Can we modify the source code?
Yes. If you feel comfortable modifying the source code, feel free to edit the code to meet your needs. Please read the license agreement for more specific information regarding altering the code. SunShop's source code is 98% available source.
What do I need to run SunShop?
You will need a web server or hosting account that is PHP and MySQL enabled. Check with your hosting company for more information.
Is it difficult to install?
SunShop includes a user-friendly, web-based installer. However, it helps to have some basic technical understanding to complete the installation process. For example, you will need to understand how to set up a database for your shopping cart, FTP the files, and set permissions to run the installer. If you don't feel comfortable installing the cart on your server, we offer an affordable installation service.
Is the license cost a one-time fee?
Yes. The amount you pay for the SunShop license is a one-time fee. The amount you pay depends on the type of license you purchase. The services included with each license are as follows:
Standard License: Standard license includes access to software updates for one year and the ability to use the software for life. Priority support for this license includes 30 days of toll free phone support. Basic support is included for one year and entails support via email, tickets and live help. Basic support and access to updates can be renewed on a yearly basis for $125.00.
Owned License: Owned license includes access to software updates for life and ability to use the software for life. Priority support for this license includes 60 days of toll free phone support. Basic support is included for one year and entails support via email, tickets and live help. Basic support can be renewed on a yearly basis for $75.00.
Where can I get updates in the future?
When you purchase SunShop, you will gain access to our client area where you will be able to download products and updates in the future.
Do I need a merchant account to process orders?
No. A merchant account is required only if you want to process credit cards in real-time. You can always accept other methods of payment, such as PayPal, checks, or money orders.
How can I accept credit cards without a merchant account?
If you have a business bank account, you may be able to get a terminal from your bank to process cards manually. Your SunShop shopping cart will collect the credit card information, and you can process it using your terminal.
Can I customize the shopping cart to look like my current site?
Absolutely! You can easily change SunShop's templates to look just like your current site. If you feel this may be too much for you to do on your own, we'd be happy to provide you with a quote to customize your site for you.
Can we hire you to add features that don't currently exist or to integrate our template or design?
Yes. We are happy to add features that aren't currently included with SunShop upon request. We also provide template manipulation and integration services. Simply submit a quote request and we'll do everything we can to meet your needs.
Is it easy to add items and update the shopping cart?
